Fountain at Blue Jacket Park
This weeks plein air adventure was at Blue Jacket Park
here in Orlando. The park is where the old naval training base
used to be. It was sad to see the base close up years ago but at least the local government saw fit to set aside land for a park.
and it does have a beautiful fountain.

Transitions
For most of my life my medium of choice has been the pencil, graphite or color. Heck, I currently make my living using them. However, I'm really hoping to begin painting seriously. I've picked up the brush from time to time over the years but with not much success. I guess it's because of lack of training and just not doing it as much as I do drawing.
So anyway, you can look forward to seeing more of paintings in this blog. Hopefully, I'll post things on a more regular basis. I know I've said that before but I'm going to try.
I welcome any comments or advice on my work. I feel this is the only way I will get better.
I'm a big fella so don't be afraid to be critical if you need to be, I can take it. Hey, I survived art college and some of those teachers made students cry.
God bless.

Cindy's Castle
acrylic 11x14
This was done for a dear lady I work with. I'll be the first to admit
I have a lot to learn about painting but I think I'm showing signs of improvement,
it was a joy to work on and the castle is such a great subject.
I worked from a photograph, it's not the best way for a number of reason
but since setting up an easel and painting in the park is not really an ideal situation
what else could I do. Expect at least one more castle painting from me in the next
few months.
